Jewels of Love

If I had a diamond for each tear in your eye,
For each time my harsh words had caused you to cry,
If I had a pearl for each time I had fought
For the love I had hoped for when we both "tied the knot."

If I had a ruby for each time you have shown
That our love, since our marriage, has flourished and grown.
If I had an emerald for each "extra" you do
That continues to make me feel special to you.

If I had all those jewels, I'd be richer than most.
I'd be able to buy of that I would boast.
But none of these gems would give any more
Than the love we so cherish, and the future hoped for.
